Blood Pressure And Its Effects
When blood is pushed into arteries and circulatory system with force blood pressure is created. The heart works like a pump and causes the blood to flow through the arteries and into the arterioles. The blood flows through the arterioles causing them to either expand or contract. If the arterioles remains in a contracted form blood pressure increases. They exert a greater resistance to the blood flow and the heart pumps harder. As there are usually no symptoms or no early warning signs of high blood pressure it is often mentioned as silent killer. Very high blood pressure can either hemorrhage (burst) or aneurysm (bulge).
Individuals with high blood pressure are also on the risk of contracting heart diseases and stroke. As heart has to work harder than normal it puts arteries under greater strain. Blood pressure also affects the kidney. It can cause kidney failure in an individual. Kidneys produce a hormone called rennin. If the blood pressure affects kidneys they produce rennin inappropriately again resulting in high blood pressure. If unchecked the blood pressure causes the blood vessels of kidneys to become narrowed and thickened. This may reduce the blood supply in kidney and cause the kidney to underperform.

In circulatory functions blood pressure plays a very important role. It is n important diagnostic index for many reasons. Hence if the blood pressure is abnormally low or high it is a clear indication of greater health problems present.
